The Uttar Pradesh Revenue Council has announced around 7900 vacant posts for Lekhpal. As I have been telling you repeatedly, close to 8000 posts are expected. The process for filling these 7994 vacancies will soon begin.

Details of the Vacancy

The Uttar Pradesh Revenue Council has sent a recruitment proposal to the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) to fill these posts. This proposal includes all the vacant positions from various divisions and districts. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has previously instructed to fill these vacancies quickly.

This is the moment you have been waiting for. The previous recruitment had 8085 posts, and around 2000 posts remained vacant. This was because top scorers often received offers for higher positions, such as Village Development Officer (VDO) or other roles, and did not join as Lekhpal.

Some of you might wonder why 2000 posts were left vacant. This happened because many candidates opted for better jobs after scoring high. It’s been almost three years since the last recruitment, and the next one is expected in 2025. The last recruitment was in 2017, and it took five years for the next one to come around in 2022.

Now, let’s discuss eligibility. It is still not clear whether this recruitment will be through the PET (Preliminary Eligibility Test) or open recruitment. However, I want all the youth of Uttar Pradesh to understand that if it is an open recruitment, everyone will have a chance to apply, regardless of whether they appeared for the PET or not.

• If you have given the PET, you can apply.
• If you have not given the PET, you can still apply in the open recruitment.

It is essential to know that many candidates will apply, whether through PET or open recruitment. A minimum of 1.5 to 2 lakh students will likely appear for the exam. The recruitment will be completed quickly without any leaks, as more forms will mean more scrutiny on the process.
